The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab

3.0

The pacing in this book was really difficult to sift through, particularly the past tense scenes. It felt like a lot of them were random, but had repetitive events and emotions. It’s a strange and callous choice for Schwab to have a 300 year old character with almost no people of color in this story. It would’ve been really neat to explore different places in Addie’s life, or use the past narrative to build up Luc’s role. Their relationship was the only fascinating dynamic to this story, and it was sexy! Henry was also a dud, and that’s part of why I felt more intrigued by Luc.
