The Wrong Bride by Catharina Maura

2.5

If there’s a trope that I absolutely, most definitely, with all my heart and might HATE is love triangles where two siblings fight for someone. Gosh, I can’t stand this trope.

Raven and Ares’ story was basically just that. Ares was engaged to Raven’s sister and now they’re in an arranged marriage that practically no one but his grandma wanted. They were kind of best friends before but, of course, Raven was in love with Ares and was always so hurt to see him with her sister.

Raven was always discribed as strong by others and I agree because she has been through a lot because of her mother and sister — who I hate with a burning passion. Ares, on the other hand, got on my nerves. He claimed he loved her but at the same time he always found himself kind of back in Hannah’s arms. It was annoying. But I did like it when he finally realised how utterly stupid he was and fixed it and toook a stand.

The pace of the book kind of threw me off — really fast paced at times and slow at others. Overall, though, it was okay. I just spent more time hating certain characters than loving it.
