Fun twist on a classic fairytale set up. 

 

I loved this book as a kid and it holds up fairly well on re-read. The setting is entertaining and the protagonist has a plucky, practical attitude that is fun to read. I will say that the romance was much weaker than I remember and it feels like it could have been improved easily. 

 

Recommended for middle-grade readers.
