I really don't have anything negative to say except for the excruciating length of this book. It's unfortunate that my first thought upon finishing was "boy am I glad that's over" considering that my second was "wow. that was amazing". I don't feel like there was a single thing that went unfinished, or that I wish had been expanded upon more (a common issue with SFF for me). I loved that there were political issues but that they underscored the plot instead of actually being the plot. If it were two books and I'd consider five stars, but I can't in good conscious rate a book that I was excited to finish that high.
Graphic: Body horror, Death, Gore, Violence, Blood, Murder, Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Sexual content, Torture, Kidnapping, Fire/Fire injury
Minor: Child abuse, Drug use, Misogyny, Rape, Slavery, Suicidal thoughts
