First off, Happy Pub Day to this stunning book!š. Iām so glad I finished reading this yesterday and my review is right on time for Pub Day!.
Reading a book in a day is always such a big deal for me because my attention span is not exactly great. Once I picked up this book, I couldnāt drop it except for when I had to sleep. When I finished it, I had to pause to acknowledge the sheer brilliance of the author. I mean, itās almost unreal whenever I remember that Iāve read over 20 titles by her and thereās not one I didnāt enjoy.
Fiyin is Erinās sister from The One (another book by the author) . I didnāt think Iād be interested in reading the story of a proud and conceited woman, but Iām so glad we got her story. It was so exciting to go on her journeys with her (pun intended)š.
The vivid imagery absolutely blew my mind!š. I could picture all of Fiyinās outfits and Rahimās private jet. The character development is also *chefās kiss*.
I donāt say it enough, but I really love it when I get to see how characters from another book in a series are faring. I get to know how life is for them at the moment, so it always feels like reuniting with old friendsā¤ļø.
Fiyin and Goriolaās love story is an unconventional but beautiful one. Theirs is a love that is patient and steadfast. Theyāre older than your regular protagonists in a romance novel and I love that. Age is nothing but a numberā¤ļø.
I appreciate how this book sheds light on the dangers of a lot of womenās total financial dependency on their partners. Quite a number of men leverage on that to hold women captive and itās always so sad to see. I hope more women will be able to break free from the shackles of financial abuse.
More than anything, I love that this book portrays the importance of self-love. You cannot give anybody what you donāt have . It was so beautiful to see Fiyinās journey to self-discoveryā¤ļø.
I can go on and on about my love for this book, but I donāt want to drop spoilers. Thank you to the author for sending me an ARC of this book. I really enjoyed reading it and I highly recommend !š.
