5,000 Kilometers Per Second
by Manuele Fior
I came across this graphic novel on Hoopla looking for something quick to read. The cover artwork caught my attention. This book is about Lucia and Piero and their relationship told in five chapters in three countries over the course of two decades. It begins with them meeting as teenagers, splitting up living their lives in different countries and coming together later as older adults, and ending with a flashback of Lucia and Piero as teenagers.
The artwork is gorgeous. The muted tones adds to the melancholic atmosphere of the story. I would have liked to have more character development but that's a little hard to do in a 144 pages. The story was okay but I could have done without some of the sexiness. It didn't add to the story at all.
