I won a copy of this book from goodreads First Reads. I read quite a bit of historical fiction but admittedly not much of American history. So this book had a lot of history, events and people that I knew very little about. It was really enjoyable, though I'm not sure how realistic Kate and her relationships were. I believe this is the author's first book, and she plans to make it a trilogy. I would definitely read the next book if so.
