Carry On by Rainbow Rowell

I love the fact this book just glosses over the fact that it is a play on Harry Potter while also making fun of it at the same time. The fact that Simon and Baz are roommates at the beginning but Baz waits to tell the audience until he comes back to school for a bit. The way that their relationship changes over time, the yearning that Baz feels while also coming to terms with being queer. Also that he is a vampire is just a part of him, not just who he was. Also Simons development was great, I love that he was The Chosen One but he was scared of being that person but coming to terms with it in his own way.
