The Outlander by Gil Adamson

3.0

The urgency of the main character in this book being pursued immediately grabbed me, and the writing is wonderfully descriptive, although a bit of a slog to get through at times. However, I was disappointed that the reader is so disconnected from the widow as the main character, and didn't feel that I got to know what sort of a person she was by the end of the book. And I was conflicted by the ending; I initially liked the romantic notion that the widow went off on her own, but the practical side of me did not care for such an implausible ending.
