Betrayal by Sarah Bailey
5.0
Dark Romance for sure.
Avery is a 20-year-old real-estate heiress for Mitchell Holdings and Aiden works in Security for Mitchell Holdings.
The thing is Mitchell Holdings is not just a Real Estate company. They have a much darker side to them. One that Aiden is all too intimately aware of. He was born into the dark, disgusting underbelly of the Mitchell Holdings family and he wants his revenge.
The book is written in a Dual POV, going back and forth between Avery and Aiden and you get an inside look at both of their emotions and the turmoil that both experience.
I think that overall, this was a well-paced story and the way that Bailey provided information, as we went along, was absolutely riveting and left me desperate to keep turning the page.
When it comes to the sexy times, there was a solid amount of build up I feel like and the pay off was solid- while I wished for a bit more- it made sense for the characters.
There is an exploration into BDSM, it's nothing hard-core, very surface level that I hope she explores further!
My ONLY gripe with this book is that it ends on a cliffhanger - the good news is that the next book is out and so one can go binge that now! Also (from what I can tell) Bailey tends to publish her series pretty close together!
