Are people rating this book high just because it’s Sherlock Holmes? Or am I missing something? The first half was fun, I’ll admit. But the second half was so out of left field I felt like I was reading a completely different book. I enjoyed the early chase and the investigation, but the pacing and the conclusion were so lackluster and unbelievable I have a really hard time understanding why this was the beginning that launched Sherlock to popularity and fame. 
Talk about a shoehorned conclusion. Very unsatisfactory.
