The Five-Star Weekend by Elin Hilderbrand

5.0

5 Stars for The Five Star Weekend!

Hollis Shaw, internet-famous food blogger and local Nantucket celebrity recently lost her husband. To deal with her grief and pain, she is inspired by this article where a woman organizes a "five star weekend" with the 4 women in her life who have meant the most through the different stages. Hollis decides to copy the format.

She invites Tatum, her childhood best friend whom she had a falling out with post high-school; Dru-Ann, her collage best friend; Brook, her mom friend from when she was pregnant with her daughter; and Gigi, a person who has been following her blog and has been helping Hollis through her grief. Lastly, she invites Caroline, her daughter, to film it all.

The five women (and Caroline) are all dealing with secrets, troubles, struggles of their own.

This book beautifully sums up grief, the different stages in our lives, regrets, and beautiful memories we have to remember to cherish.

Elin Hilderbrand is my favorite author to read in the summertime when I need a little pick me up, and this book did not disappoint. I am only sorry the book is over!
