Luckiest Girl Alive by Jessica Knoll
2.0

As I read the first several pages, I had to wonder how this book was ever added to my Want to Read list. The narrator is everything I don't like about women: a shallow, materialistic, bitch who harshly critiques other women while all the while comparing herself to them to be sure she's always seen as better than, smarter than and more successful than them.

A third of the way through, I seriously considered how far I'd read before deciding not to finish it.

At the halfway mark, I decided to plow on through. Although it became mildly more interesting, it's never more than just ok. It had the potential to speak volumes about rape, domestic violence, the media, revenge, forgiveness, love and happiness, porn, the death of a child and more... but instead it stops well short of saying anything at all. Ugh.
