Definitely worth the read, I watched the movie first and then read the book. Maybe that’s why I loved the book so much? I loved the setting ranging from the 40s to the 60s in the American midwest and Appalachia. Southern Gothic vibes. The pacing is masterful, readers are never bored. The detached, omniscient narrator powerfully allows readers into the skins of multiple characters.
