Romance icks/dislikes I've discovered while reading this book:
- Reggie's roommate forwards her illicit photos he received from his own love interest. There's no mention of whether or not the love interest consented to having the photos shared, nor of the inappropriateness of the roommate forwarding the photos to Reggie without her consent to receive them. Instead, it's used as a way to show Ben's jealousy when he sees the photos on Reggie's phone.
- Ben lusts after Reggie within days of meeting her, which wouldn't be a big issue if the lust was mutual. Reggie doesn't lust after Ben beyond surface attraction until around 50% through.
- After the big reveal of Ben having killed his parents , his mental dialogue is full of "I wish she'd ask about it. I want her to dare to ask questions." He knows how big of an issue the reveal is to her and the exact questions she might have since he's been sitting on the issue for hundreds of years , but he doesn't consider just offering the information upfront so that they can have an open conversation.
