In Her Shoes by Jennifer Weiner

4.0

SO much better than the movie! I did enjoy the movie, and the author herself has commented that she thought that the movie did her story justice. But as usual, there is just so much more depth in the book. For me, a story cannot captivate me unless I am completely into the characters. If everyone in the story could be et by zombies and I could care less, I will typically put a book down after about 50 or so pages. This is why I have become a fan of Jennifer Weiner's novels - her character development is top notch and you leave her stories feeling like these people exist in real life. In this story, the main characters, Rose and Maggie, are sisters yet polar opposites of each other. Their differences make it impossible to co-exist, yet their lives seem incomplete without one another. If you've seen and enjoyed the movie, go ahead and pick up the book, you'll be glad you did.
