I enjoyed this follow-up to the Queen's Rising, though I felt initially irritated by the sudden switch to alternating points of view. Brienna was the main draw of book 1, but in book 2 Cartier gets half of the chapters for his own perspective. The political intrigue is a smaller scale, but a satisfying book overall.
