Hollow City by Ransom Riggs
3.0

I listened to this as an audiobook, so I think I'm missing some of the aesthetic of the vintage photos, but I must say there are a lot of ways in which this book feels like just another sci-fi trilogy for the YA crowd. I like the historical element of time travel during WWII but even that becomes confusing, because the characters are outside of time in some aspects but still bound by time in others. It is entertaining for a long car ride but not my top recommendation as far as sci-fi novels go. I'll still read the third novel because now I have to know how it ends.
