How to Get a Life in Ten Dates by Jenny L. Howe
3.75
My brain was wanting a romance and luckily this had just come in from the library. I enjoyed the writing style and the characters and I thought the date survey was a cute gimmick. I had just gotten annoyed with the references to a past event when Howe told us explicitly what happened. I was curious how she was going to resolve the love triangle, and I thought that was adequate if a bit rushed. I thought the characters seemed older than 25 and I would have put them at the 28-30 range. I also couldn’t understand how they were affording their lifestyles given their jobs and where the lived. But what knocked this down to 3.75 for me was when the FMC flubs a question in an interview, she doesn’t send an email to follow up, she just gives up and takes a lesser, and frankly, less believable, job. That really irritated me.
