pimoo 's review for:
Wish You Were Here
by Jodi Picoult
I really enjoyed this book, the writing was easy to read and I sped through it.
Being set in COVID made the book a little surreal at times and it did feel like a time capsule of the COVID epidemic we lived and have quickly moved on from.
I did find the middle infuriating and it went against every instinct I have as a reader that wanrs to trust the author.
Aside from that the relationships were endearing, the descriptions were beautiful.
My favourite part of the book by far was the mother daughter relationship!
WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT WAS A DREAM JODI - are you kidding, why did you create meaningful arcs and attribute sensitive storylines to characters who were never real???
