A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara

People may not like this because it doesn’t give relief, it doesn’t have a happy ending. But to me it’s the only piece of work I’ve ever read that perfectly captivated the story that sometimes people don’t get better. It makes you see suicide in an unselfish way. The true way. It makes you heave with grief and then releases you. It perfectly encapsulates the journey of PTSD and how it erodes the brain, irreversibly in some cases.
It lets you hold your breathe with Jude and release it with Jude.
