My son (going into 8th grade) just read this because it was on his school's summer reading list. He read it in a few hours and came downstairs wanting to talk about it. I read it too so we could compare notes. It is a very quick read, and extremely powerful. It's a perfect opportunity to read along with your tween and discuss it together. There are some great discussion questions at the end.
