The Christmas Orphans Club by Becca Freeman
4.0
Since college, Hannah and Finn have spent every Christmas together because neither has anywhere else to go. Hannah’s parents died and Finn’s disowned him when he came out. As each Christmas passes, their offbeat traditional adventures grow more outrageous. Their found family solidifies while living in New York City with Priya and Theo added to their group. Now, Finn announces he’s moving to L.A., making this Christmas to possibly be their last. This Christmas brings about many changes…but are these changes exactly what they need?
THE CHRISTMAS ORPHANS CLUB is such a cute story with strong holiday vibes and the best found family. It’s set in NYC – a setting that sounds truly magical during the holidays.
The novel is narrated in dual POV, alternating between Finn and Hannah’s perspectives, with the audiobook featuring two narrators. It’s told over the course of five Christmases and tells the story and evolution of Hannah and Finn’s friendship, as well as their friend group which includes Theo and Priya, who’ve named themselves The Christmas Orphans Club.
THE CHRISTMAS ORPHANS CLUB is a really unique and well written story. It features characters that you can’t help but love. I love that Hannah and Finn were so supportive of each other, even during the tough times. This is such a beautiful and heartwarming testament to the strength of friendships and how friendships change as we grow.
