The Disabled Tyrant's Beloved Pet Fish: Canji Baojun de Zhangxin Yu Chong (Novel) Vol. 1 by Xue Shan Fei Hu

funny

5.0

I already read the whole novel a few months ago, but since it recently got published in english I had to buy the physical copy and re-read it as soon as possible. And of course, I had to come here to hype it up.

Before you pick this up, please keep in mind that this is a comedy. The book is very intentionally unserious and the whole setting is absolutely hilarious. I suggest you read this when you’re feeling sad because I read it every morning while commuting (sighs, I was really at my limit) and it made me cackle so much. It was just what I needed at the time to be honest.

Although this book focuses on the relationship between the MC and ML, it also explores the intrigue nest that is the royal family. Other common elements like transmigration and the existence of a system — which is, by the way, the most flexible one I’ve ever read, as it changes to fit the direction the characters take as the story develops — were pretty interesting as they were different from other danmei novels. After all, it’s not everyday a guy transmigrates into a novel as the tyrant’s pet fish, right?

Overall, a very fluffy, lighthearted and comedic read if that’s what you’re looking for.
