Honestly, I had higher hopes for this one considering how hyped up it was. The writing style was okay - a little robotic at times. Every chapter seemed to end with a weirdly out of place sentence that I think was supposed to be a cliffhanger? Idk this kind of annoyed me the whole time tbh. Nina’s motivations and actions towards the end of the book also annoyed me (
Spoiler like seriously?? After everything you went through you were willing to leave another girl there even for a minute??? Expecting Millie to kill him was such a longshot and she’s lucky it worked out for her
) Everything about the plot was *extremely* predictable (except the ending but that is exactly what should have happened (
Spoiler millie locking his a** in that tiny room to suffer
) so I was more so just surprised it went that way). However, it still got three stars because it kept me intrigued enough to read it in under a day. I already bought the second one, so I will likely end up reading it but my expectations are definitely lowered.
