Deadeye Dick by Kurt Vonnegut
4.0
Vonnegut’s dry, dark sense of humor shines brightly throughout this novel. From his portrayals of societal outcasts through his characters to larger commentary on the American psyche and paranoia post-atom bomb, Deadeye Dick contains a perfect combination of hilarity and humility as you follow the stories of some truly downtrodden folks in Nowhere, USA.
This book left me wanting to read all of Vonnegut’s work. His noir, yet somehow still optimistic, perspective on life, paired with a great sense of humor provide all the makings for a fabulous novel.
