The Robots of Dawn by Isaac Asimov

5.0

The Robot series is a truly amazing collection of fictional novels. Each book in the series so far has captured everything that makes a classic detective whodunit story appealing, throws in some philosophical analogies and maximizes the futuristic effect of a robot-human ecosystem.

I would rate the Robots of Dawn behind the first two novels in the series, largely because I found it too long. One of the best selling points of the first two novels, which was absent in the third one was the way everything was packed in a concise book. While the end reveal in the third book is the best in the series, I felt it was too winding at times. Nonetheless, the story in itself, the characters, and Elijah's investigations kept me engaged throughout. R.Daneel Olivaw is a more fleshed out character than most human protagonists in contemporary novels. Giskard was an unexpected surprise package, I cannot wait to see what unfolds in the fourth and final book of the series.
