I still prefer the TV show, although that is probably because I consumed it long before the books. However, because they're so different, I can enjoy the books as different entities entirely. It's like reading an AU of some of the characters and imagining what they would be like in different scenarios.
The scenes on the Colony ship were haunting, I have to say, and I wouldn't want to go back to them. For my own reference they reminded me somewhat of the desperation and human folly in the last book of the Dancing Jax series.
I don't love Glass as a character, but her story is very interesting, and I'll be looking forward to seeing where that goes. Book Bellamy is so much softer than TV Bellamy, but it's also an interesting difference (although of course Bob Morley's Bellamy is still my preferred Bellamy!).
I'm glad we still have Wells in the books. He was lost too soon in the show!! He's an interesting character and I like to see the world from his perspective. It does make me sad though because his relationship with Clarke in the flashbacks is so pure and good and it makes me feel conflicted.
