Fangirl

Reading this book was a journey, full of ups and downs. I was thinking in rating it with 3 stars in the beginning, but finally I rated with 4 stars taking into account many things that I'm going to explain in the next paragraphs.
First of all, I think this book is a type of "slice of life," so it was unnecesarily long. When I was reading, I felt that it didn't go anywhere, I mean I had read 150 pages and nothing relevant had happened, besides how Cath was; and it would have been ok because the story was supposed to be about Cath's life in the university, but the problem was what I mentioned in the beginning, the book is TOO LONG. To be honest, I had to skip some parts when reading this book (all the Simon Snow fanfics), and I don't regret it because I was disliking the book because of that stuff; in my personal opinion, they were nonsense.
Believe me when I tell you that I enjoyed the book 1000 more times when I started skipping those parts XD. Perhaps, the only problem of doing that would be at the moment of reading the ending because it is...hmm... in certain way "connected." (this is my best effort not to spoil you the ending)
Now let's talk about the good things because this book has a lot of them. (Yeah, because even though what I said, I liked this book a lot). Cath is not an easy character, which can make you dislike her sometimes, but it doesn't mean that she is not a good character, actually her character is deeper than Levi, who is someone that I really liked hehe. Cath struggles to do many things because of her personality, she has good and bad qualities that makes her not to be a flat character and this is good because in this kind of stories it's really common to see flat characters without motivations or too perfect to be real.
Another thing that I liked was the love story. It's abosultely the most adorable and sweetest love story that I read in a young adult book, that was the reason which I gave it 4 stars. I really enjoyed reading Cath and Levi's love story, it made me really happy and I couldn't help, but smile everytime they were together. Maybe you think this is not enough reason to give it 4 stars, but I think it is.
Besides the fact of enyojing this book because of its love story (which is completely normal since it is clearly focused on romance), we have to know that this book has a young target, so it's really nice the kind of relationship the author wanted to show because we usually see toxic relationships being romanticized in young adult books wich are going to be read by young people and that would not be good, but in this book it doesn't happen which makes it deserve the four stars.
