When I tell you this book was announced and the cover IMMEDIATELY drew me in. And then it was released and I had to wait 18 weeks for it from the library. So when it got to me, FINALLY, I had some high hopes - and thankfully they werenโ€™t dashed.

๐ŸŒŸ ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐˜ƒ๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐˜„: This book passed the vibe test on all the tropes it promised, and I definitely enjoyed the whole ride.

Corrie and Ford are both characters with complex stories, and they both get their time to shine in this book. I loved how they were polar opposites and at each others throats, but both also loved riling the other up.

The archaeology side of the story is well thought out and easy to understand - and clearly well researched. The little twists and turns toward the end were also an added nice touch, giving some suspense to the narrative.

I think overall I wanted a little more to the ending - there were some tiny plot holes left undone - and Iโ€™m never super fond of third person POV, so I ended up at 4 stars.
