Anatomy: A Love Story
by Dana Schwartz
It’s hard to explain, but somehow it was nothing I had ever read. It was grotesque and crude, but I liked it either way, and I have to say it was intriguing from the very first chapter. The setting and the world building were amazing—very fact-based, I believe—for the time period it was supposed to portray, which made it even more captivating. And of course there was Hazel, who broke out of that very real social norm, and I just couldn’t stop reading about her. And Jack. And while I figured out the big secret, if it could be called that, like after 15% of the book, it was still genius. Now the ending, jeeez. I will be so pissed if they don’t get a happy ending in the sequel.
