This series is not entirely for me, but I like it a great deal even so. Whereas I wasn't into Gideon (book 1) for 2/3rds of it but it then considerably won me over, Harrow really worked for me until it didn't, about 3/4ths of the way through. There's many reasons for this, but it would be hard to say without spoilers.
Be forewarned that you will be kept in the dark about significant aspects of what is going on for a significant portion of the book - that will make or break it for many. I loved that aspect but was dissatisfied with how it resolved - so far I have not run into anyone who feels the same so it may be a niche opinion.
I've gotta respect it for its big swings. When I like Tamsyn Muir's writing, I strongly like it, and when I dislike it, it's nails on a chalkboard to me. Thankfully, in Harrow, it's much more of the former than the latter, and that ratio increased from book 1 to book 2, so maybe that trend will continue for me!
