I absolutely devour every new book in Hannah Shield’s steamy romantic suspense series. Danica is the daughter of a billionaire and a philanthropist, which has made her and the rest of her family into the target of kidnappers. The book opens with a high-octane scene where we get a taste of what Danica’s protection detail will be up against. I really liked Danica from those very first scenes. She might be wealthy, but she’s also down to earth and likes to take charge. Noah is a former SEAL and has history with Danica and the rest of her family. I liked the way the backstories of both characters were woven together and as we learned more about their family histories, how this complicated things. Things quickly heated up for the two leads, in between multiple kidnapping attempts, and as things are revealed, let’s just say there are some dark secrets… loved this one! 5/5 stars.
