The book was somewhat disturbing and absurd, and left me a bit confused.
The premise is intense, the atmosphere very tangible, and I liked the detailed descriptions of the scents, which might seem a bit long-winded to some.
The protagonist wanted to be seen, someone who has no smell and therefore doesn't really exist. What is being human?
The story really takes off around 70%, and from there I didn't enjoy it as much. It veers into the absurd, and I particularly disliked the obscene parts. I enjoyed the atmosphere, and I also liked the writing style, but it didn't grab me emotionally, and generally I expected more.
