Nexus: A Brief History of Information Networks from the Stone Age to AI
by Yuval Noah Harari
slow-paced
This was the first book I’ve read by this author—and probably the last.
I get that I’m not the target reader here because I don’t enjoy books about politics, but this felt more like the author sharing his personal opinions with some factual background. I was hoping for a book that would educate me by presenting only facts and questions, but instead I got a lot of the author’s viewpoints and stories that felt only loosely connected to the chapter topics. There were a few interesting parts, but much of it felt like basic knowledge dressed up with a ‘wow’ effect.
Nothing against the author—it’s just not the right book for me.
