saddest comedy book + be off putting it’s fun

this book makes me thinking about life aging and being old in a good and bad way. leik the mix of reminiscing over the old memories as time flies by and how silly ppl were growing up and how fast they memories can vanish and the silly hopefull quirks of aging it’s a delightful combo.

i read this and think wow he’s getting old and has lived life truly. then i continue reading abt the absolutely unhinged shit he’s doing as a old man and I’m just leik holy shit someone lock him up 😭😹😹😹. it’s so funny tho bc he’ll be leik yeah time flies so cherish the present to when ur old u just gotta win the idgaf war and try to feed turtles your tumor, talk crazy to ppl, and walk 150000 steps a day collecting roadkill

fr tho i love sedaris writing leik it’s just so easy to breeze through and it’s tender and silly

i always say reading his books are leik talking to a friend leik the good typa friends that u can not see for leik weeks and leik it’ll be fine u guys still besties yk

its esp nice when he drops some odd fact and ur leik oh yeah he’s said something abt this in a past book and this buzzard fact he just dropped no longer fazes me leik it rly makes me feel connected to the writer as a reader kinda explaining the whole his books are leik a convo with a friend

i could not read his work for a year then pick up a book of his and be embraced by the familiarity of his odd bizarre personality
