From My Balcony to Yours by Nino Gugunishvili

3.0

This book is a short story that consists of blog posts written by Nino during the lockdown due to the pandemic.

I thought this was a really interesting setup and I find it interesting that books about covid are now starting to get published, when for me it feels like covid hasn't even ended.

The posts are funny, very easy to read and gives an honest glimpse of lockdown. There are some fun anecdotes that made me smile! I had a hard time relating though that's not the book's fault! Since I live in Sweden, we didn't have a full lockdown. I also work in care (albeit not in a hospital) which meant that for me, covid wasn't getting bored with Netflix, it was working 60 hour weeks at the very least, my work phone constantly ringing around the clock. Then again, while we couldn't gather together, and I did in fact not shop in stores etc. I wasn't confined to my home either.

I am not saying lockdown wasn't hard! I do get that. I just think that while I loved the idea of this book, and it was a fun read, I can't rate it 4⭐ because I just couldn't relate. But that's how it is sometimes! I definitely think it's a nice read and I think that someone who has experienced lockdown would enjoy it even more than I did!
