It was okay, a little bland maybe.
Caroline's cute and Richard is maybe a bit too nice, but the other two? Jessica is always "magnificent" or "stunning" - found I kind of got tired of the repeated adjectives and felt like I was being bashed about the head with her beauty, like I had to submit to the vague descriptions or else. And Jason was... flat.
The story was okay; it was interesting to see how Richard came about his earldom and our first glimpse of Reggie (his story is further explored in [b:The Rake|614718|The Rake|Mary Jo Putney|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1293469516s/614718.jpg|601159]). Though honestly, I was more interested in Reggie (and the excerpt from [b:The Bargain|115817|The Bargain (Regency #1)|Mary Jo Putney|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1171714874s/115817.jpg|111539] at the back) than the protagonists.
