Duplicity (St. Fleur Novel Book 3) by AJ Renee

5 Stars

I could say that this was my favorite of the three books in this series so far, but it would not be true...each one of the books in this series is my favorite, lol I just simply adore everything about each one. This one was special because these two people, Jaime Lynn and Jesse have been in each of the first two, and I couldn't wait to read their stories and why they were the way they were and why they did the things they did.

Jaime Lynn owns Whiskey’s, a pub in St. Fleur, a place where everyone that's anyone goes to in town. She has the best friends, a fantastic supportive sister that she pretty much raised after their mom died in a horrible accident and is pretty much loved by everyone. She is haunted by a past that she hasn't shared with anyone and stays away from any kind of relationships or thoughts of ever having a family of her own. She can't because she knows and lives by the fact that “everyone leaves”.

Jesse was hired by Jamie Lynn to be the bartender at Whiskey’s, he is also haunted by a tragic past, a past in New Orleans, that he just had to escape from if even for just a little while.

Jesse and Jaime Lynn were attracted to each other from the first moment they met. He came in for an interview and Jaime Lynn knew she shouldn't hire him, how in the world would she work with this man that made her body and mind feel the way he did. She took a chance and hired him anyway. Their attraction leads them to take a chance and see if there was anything real between them. That was two years ago, two years since she was going to meet him for their first date and he proved what she always believed, he was a liar and no matter what anyone says..they always leave.

For 2 years he has worked side by side with this infuriating woman, and he still doesn't know what he did wrong, but he can't help how he feels, and he wants her no matter what. When the truth finally comes out bringing the secrets of his past with it these two finally decide to give it another shot. Will their pasts allow them to be together or tear them apart for good? When he receives a letter from his past and it's everything he always wanted, can he have it all or will he just prove Jaime Lynn’s mantra of “everyone leaves” to be true?

Thank you AJ Renee for another awesome story, I can not wait for the next in this series, I will be one clicking the minute it's available.I guess you could read this as a standalone, but I would not recommend it, to appreciate these two characters and of course the other characters in this book you really have to read them in order... Loved loved loved it!!!!
