What Would Boudicca Do?: Everyday Problems Solved by History's Most Remarkable Women by Elizabeth Foley

3.0

I loved the idea behind What Would Boudicca Do? But it's execution left me wanting more. I wanted to learn more about each of the women mentioned. Each of the historical figures had an illustration, their name and then a few pages of background on them. Enough to pique my interest and then not enough to fully satiate my interest. It felt as though it was trying to be too humorous or witty in places at the expense of educating the reader on the figures included.

Whilst I still really enjoyed this book I wish that there had been a smaller selection of women so there could have been more detail added into their biography. I don't particularly understand why each woman was also given a subtitle. For example 'Catherine the Great and Dealing with Gossip' - each section followed this format but then the content didn't reaaaally relate to the particular subtitle.

A promising premise that didn't deliver, unfortunately.
