Happily Ever Afters by Elise Bryant

I enjoyed this YA rom-com! Great representation from the main character Tessa - a biracial teenage girl trying to fit in and struggling with anxiety, micro-aggressions and body image acceptance.

I really loved that her boy next door friend (with a secret crush on her) was a baker! As well, her older brother has cerebral palsy and I thought his character was represented in an amazing way - not enough books humanize people with disabilities but Elise Bryant did an excellent job with that!

Tessa is a writer struggling with writer’s block and trying to fit in at a new school while also trying to get the popular boy she’s crushing on to notice her. Not too much teen love drama - but lots of teen bullying and racism. Looking forward to the next book in what appears to be a new series :)
