All the Dead Lie Down
by Kyrie McCauley
This was a haunting, yet cozy read. I really enjoyed the grotesque, if not a little gory parts. It was unsettling in just the right way. Since this is ya, I wasn't expecting too much of dark stuff (even though at first i thought it was adult so i expected smth completely different). There were some parts and aspects of the story that were not my favorite, I definitely think it could have done with more polishing, or with changing some things. The writing style was interesting. Not bad, just at times I was surprised at how things were delivered. Sometimes it felt repetitive and the ending was a bit cliche and unsatisfying. I was hoping for a more weirder, darker story (i try going into books with as little expectations as i can but oh well), and therefore, when after the second half, it started being more cozy than creepy, i was a bit dissapointed. That's why i lowered the rating by half a star. I did love all the cute moments, whether between the couple or the girls in general. But I just had different expectations I suppose. All in all, it was pretty enjoyable and i devoured it rather quickly.
