I am SO PLEASED with how this story turned out. This is the exact kind of book I’ve been craving: well-researched, fun magic system, tightly plotted, and a slow burn that’s actually slow. The descriptions of everything from the characters to the settings were extremely vivid. The mysteries and plot twists were hinted at but not obvious or out of nowhere. I felt every betrayal like Inez and I were one. Fantasy authors should be taking notes!!!
