I am so happy that I went into this book knowing the bare minimum: dark academia, translation-based magic, and a discussion of colonization and bias that is still present in academic institutions today. No preconceived notions. 

Sometimes you just have to sit back and listen to what the author is saying.

All you need to know is that this book was spectacular and that if you have even the slightest love for dark academia, this is must read.
