This book was exactly what I needed right now! It was a surface-level read but gosh darn it was fun and interesting. There weren't any truly deep thematic ruminations, but I wasn't reading for that. I was reading for a good adventurous and mysterious story that would sweep me away and that is exactly what I got! I adored the protagonist and loved the other characters too. Sure, there are a couple of plot holes here and there, a couple of the smaller "a-ha!" moments were somewhat predictable, but the storytelling was wonderful and I just could not put it down because I wanted to know more, see more -- I felt like I was there, with the characters, and along for the ride.
