I thought the plot sounded really interesting but I honestly should have DNF'd after the first third. I could not get into the writing style, even after switching to an audiobook half way through. The writing was meandering and felt disjointed, although I realize part of that is to evoke the symptoms of the experiments, I was not connected to the main character or story at all for being such an interesting topic. I'm also disappointed we never received answers for the studies - how they got started, why they seemed to target Lena's family, and what (other than race) they were specifically studying?
