Sur ordre de Dieu by Jon Krakauer

4.0

Very immersive. An inquiry of the Mormon history, beliefs and practices, that went so far on female control that a double murder was committed "Under the banner of heaven", or on "God's Order" (if we follow the French translation).
Krakauer met a lot of people, from all sides of the story, and let them express.
I knew close to nothing about his community and this is so relevant in our times, to realise that all dogmas should not interfere in our Human societies and Laws, otherwise they compromise our ways to live together. Religion and beliefs are beautiful things, but they should remain a spiritual journey for individuals, not a source of social norms and behaviours.
