If Rocks Could Sing: A Discovered Alphabet
by Leslie McGuirk
What a unique alphabet book! The author found a rock in the shape of every letter. (From the note at the end: "For many years, I waited for the letter K to appear. There was nothing I could do to make it show up. I understood that nature has its own timing, and my job was to be aware and expectant.") Then, she found something that begins with each letter -- some of these are immediately obvious, and some require some peering. All in all, a simple and creative idea that would be fun to try on your own.
