 This Mortal Coil by Emily Suvada was a great kick-off to a sci-fi dystopian story. While some of us may still be triggered by the pandemic (and if you are, fair warning, this takes place during a pandemic) I thought this was an interesting and modern topic. I love the introduction of technology into human bodies, and the way that technology and coding has become the norm for members of this society. I think the disease is unique for this kind of story (it took me off guard the first time we see it up close) and I think the fight for the cure is a noble and honest cause, at least, as it starts out. I’m really excited to see where this series goes next, and I hope you all are too! If you’re looking for a romantic pandemic adventure laced with technology and coding, this is the book for you.
