Die Pflanzen und ihre Rechte: Eine Charta zur Erhaltung unserer Natur by Stefano Mancuso

4.0

This short book is framed as a constitution for the nation of plants. However, the actual charter consists of only eight articles that fit on two pages. The main content of the book is a commentary on each of the articles, explaining the motivation behind them. As such, the book is mostly a discussion of what's wrong with our relationship with nature, and what we need to do to save both ourselves and our planet. There are quite a few interesting thoughts in this book. For example, the author raises the question of why we allow plants and non-human animals to migrate across national borders, but don't grant those same rights to members of our own species.
